Capsule Applier

A Capsule Applier is a handheld dental instrument used to dispense pre-measured capsule materials such as glass ionomer cement (GIC), resin-modified GIC, and certain composite systems. It is designed like a trigger gun, allowing dentists to apply restorative materials directly into the prepared cavity with precision and control.

The device works by holding a capsule (e.g., Fuji or Ketac capsules) inside its chamber. When the handle is pressed, it activates a plunger mechanism that extrudes the material through the capsule nozzle. This ensures accurate placement, minimizes wastage, and maintains a clean working environment. Many capsule appliers also allow 360-degree rotation of the capsule tip, enabling easy access to difficult intraoral areas.
